Flexible structures ~ Tents
Modern tents use light weight fabrics which are given structure with equally light weight poles and guy lines.
The picture shown here of a small very light weight tent is made from gortex nylon material which is breathable, water and wind proof even when it has been screwed up in a bag or rucksack.
The hooped flexible poles at each end are fed through ‘tubes’ in the fabric which then hold the tend open, the guy lines hold the poles in the in place and help to keep the structure rigid.

The poles in this tent are in TENSION, the guy lines and fabric are also in TENSION. This is what helps keep this tent errect and waterproof.

Serving Spoon B: Injection Moulded Plastic; probably HIPS or acrylic. Reason for choice, ridgid, hygienic and safe for food use.
