This chair was designed in the 1930’s. It is made from steel tube and steel strips which are riveted together. The seating surface is cloth (canvas). The frame is painted. The chair is very heavy and very low to the ground.
Compare this with modern designs, the principle is the same but the materials are very different. Why have the materials used in this type of furniture changed since the design was first made?
