Mindmapping workshop for parents ~ success!

Filed under: Design Technology — Editor @ 8:26 pm

Recently I ran a workshop for the parents of our students on how mind-mapping works and how we are using this in the education of their children.

It was a great event and the parents who attended really got into the ideas and concepts.

‘Your passion and expertise were infectious! We learnt a great deal and xxx immediately downloaded the free week of the Buzan package.  Exclamations of : ‘wow’, and: ‘ this is great’, were to be heard. He has already started to map out revision…………..’

This is a comment from one of the parents who attended for which I say a massive ‘Thank you’.

Mindmapping workshop success

On Thursday evening a group of parents and staff sat down together for a new experience, a workshop in how enhance the use of their brains, memory and thinking through the use of mindmapping techniques.

Everyone was able to have a go at new software based techniques and a paper-based activity.

The workshop started with a brief introduction and theory followed by a creative exercise where the group had to think of as many alternative uses for a wire coat hanger! The total in a few minutes was over 30!

The room soon became a hive of activity as everyone settled down to explore how the software worked and how it could be used in everyday and professional situations.

One of the class  reported ‘The workshop was great fun, we learnt a lot and amazed ourselves at how powerful this technique is, excellent!’
